Vintage Fully Functional Pletscher Metal Spring Loaded Rear Bicycle Rack

In an effort to let you evaluate the rack correctly I have taken all these pictures. You can magnify them to decide whether this description is accurate. The rack is aluminum with a couple of steel screws and springs. You can see there is some surface rust on these few steel parts. It is in no way damaging and actually brushes off very easily. To demonstrate this I lightly brushed the easiest to get to angles and you can see there is no damage underneath the surface. However, I made no attempt to restore the seat knowing you have your own methods for restoration. Other than my light brushing to show it is only surface rust on those steel parts, the seat has original patina. The springs are tight like when new and the mechanism functions properly. The hardware that clamps the rack to your bike is there. If your goal is the restore an old bike I think I can say there's nothing about this rack that could not be made to look great. Look at the pictures closely several times because what's in the pictures and the condition of the rack is exactly what you will receive. You might notice I left that "Make Offer" feature just dangling there in case you want to test me!!! It's OK. No harm can come from trying!!!
